We’re looking for an intermediate level Developer to help contribute to the rapid, high-quality product development of our platform. We are all about sharing our knowledge and experience in a way that helps those around us grow - and helps you flourish in your career. You’re someone with loads of initiative who adapts well to change and faces challenges head on.

You’ll be part of a small team (three developers, one tester, and one designer); we operate in a high-trust culture so the ability to communicate openly and honestly to get the job done is key.

Put your skills to work

You’ll have the skills to jump on board and hit the ground running – we’re looking for someone with dev skills in both front-end and back-end technologies. You’ll bring a solid background in software development, in particular web applications.

Ideally, you’ll will have three years+ development experience with a tertiary qualification in computer science (or similar). We’re also open to someone who might not have a qualification but who has a good background of commercial experience.

As well as that, you’ll have sound knowledge with back-end technologies:

  • .NET and C#
  • SQL Server

Experience with front-end technologies:

  • HTML
  • CSS and pre-processors, particularly SASS
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • React
  • ASP.NET MVC Razor Views

And if you know your way around these too, then that’s a bonus!

  • AWS or Azure
  • REST APIs
  • git and CI/CD pipelines
  • OO design patterns (when to use them or not)
  • SOLID principles

By simplifying insurance, we provide Kiwis with the information they need to make good choices. The new owners and leadership team have significant product development plans in the pipeline extending into other products to help New Zealanders get more financially literate.
