- Work in Wellington or Palmerston North with teams spread across the world
Don’t you find it satisfying when a team develops into a strong, high-performing entity, growing the company and achieving its goals?
Here’s an opportunity for you to work amongst a dynamic leadership team at an exciting time of expansion for an international tech organisation. Author-IT provides an innovative cloud-based content development platform, allowing businesses to create, use and share content and critical documentation from anywhere. Our customers are spread throughout the world and include well known brands such as Samsung, John Deere and Eli Lilly.
You’ll lead the day-to-day HR side of the business – dealing with recruitment, policies, health and safety, and learning and development – while also looking to the future and helping to develop an overarching people strategy. Ultimately, what we want is world-beating HR processes and HR management to attract and retain the best in the tech industry. We aim to be a global leader in our niche, and with your expertise our board and management will deliver that through our people.
For the right person we are flexible. We will consider applicants looking for full-time employment but also someone looking for 3-4 days a week - so it may be well-suited if you’re relaunching your career after a break. With our CEO in Wellington and most of our team in Palmerston North, you could be based in either of these. You’ll ideally have experience working independently in a decentralised team, especially if it includes international workers.
You can make great use of your significant experience in HR management, your deep understanding of all aspects of HR, and good knowledge of BambooHR. A positive, influential team leader who understands how to get the best from people, you’ll work well with people at all levels in a variety of departments. While familiarity with the tech sector would be useful, it’s especially important that you bring experience working across different jurisdictions and a strong knowledge of labour laws in New Zealand and other countries, especially the USA.
With that in mind, you can expect some travel. As well as occasional trips between Wellington and Palmerston North, you’ll ideally be able to travel internationally once a year (our teams are spread across NZ, USA and the Netherlands.
