Business Development Manager – Commercial Asset Finance
Are you a high-performing sales professional who thrives on results, builds strong relationships, and has a track record of delivering commercial outcomes? If you're driven by growth, enjoy developing networks, and have a natural ability to uncover and close opportunities, this could be the right next step in your career.
We are partnering with a rapidly growing asset finance company that has established a strong presence in New Zealand. With a 50-year legacy of supporting Kiwi businesses, they offer a value proposition that safeguards clients’ capital while enabling growth. As part of their continued expansion, they are appointing a Business Development Manager to join their team (location flexible based on successful candidate). This role will report to the General Manager and sit within a high-performing national BDM team.
You’ll be responsible for developing new business and managing existing relationships, with warm leads generated through an established broker network. The role involves regional travel (approx. 1-2 days per week) to meet with prospective and existing vendors and clients to uncover and convert asset finance opportunities.
What’s on offer:
- Strong team culture and leadership – A supportive, engaged team of 60 across NZ with a leadership team that values performance and loyalty.
- Rewarding remuneration and benefits – 20% bonus based on KPIs, a fully serviced new vehicle and fuel card, phone, laptop, and Southern Cross Health Insurance.
- Career development – Structured training, clear performance metrics, and genuine progression pathways.
What you’ll bring:
- A driven, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for relationship-based sales.
- Proven B2B sales experience with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly.
- Strong networks across New Zealand that can help you open doors.
- Industry knowledge in sectors such as agriculture, construction, or similar (preferred, not essential).
- Financial acumen – experience with financial analysis, risk, or accounting is a bonus.
- A tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, or Business is advantageous but not essential.
