About the Role
We are partnering with our client to recruit a talented Environmental / Three Waters Engineer at Intermediate to Principal level, based in Auckland or Hamilton. You will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team delivering infrastructure, asset-management and environmental-engineering projects that benefit communities and the environment.
Your key responsibilities may include:
- Designing, delivering and managing water, stormwater, wastewater or catchment-infrastructure projects.
- Working in both office and field settings, coordinating with contractors, clients, and team members.
- Providing technical oversight, mentoring others (for senior to principal level) and developing your skills.
- Supporting asset-management strategies, sustainable design (including water-sensitive urban design), climate-adaptation and catchment management.
- Collaborating closely with engineers, scientists, GIS specialists, and diverse teams, while delivering high-quality outcomes.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Engineering (or equivalent) with 4+ years’ relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with civil/environmental engineering, asset management or fieldwork.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable working between office and field.
- Environmental-mindset, commitment to sustainability and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
For Senior – Principle Level
- In-depth knowledge of Three Waters infrastructure assessment, design, delivery and strategy.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, mentor teams and engage with clients professionally.
- Strong technical capability and awareness of emerging practices, regulations and cultural/contextual factors (e.g., Te Tiriti o Waitangi, mātauranga Māori if relevant).
- Leadership mindset and passion for sustainable infrastructure outcomes.
