We’re working with a leading land development and planning consultancy to find an experienced Senior Planner to join their Hamilton team. With a strong pipeline of work and a brand-new office opening soon in the city, this is an exciting time to come on board.

About the role

You’ll be managing your own projects end-to-end – from resource consents to plan changes – and working closely with clients to deliver high-quality planning outcomes. The work is varied and fast-paced, spanning land development, land use, and infrastructure projects across the Waikato and beyond.

You’ll also play a key part in supporting junior planners, sharing your expertise, and helping to maintain a collaborative, high-performing team culture. This role is based in the office, so we’re looking for someone who values face-to-face teamwork and enjoys contributing to the daily rhythm of the team.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a confident, self-sufficient planner who can hit the ground running and deliver great results for clients. You’ll bring:

• 10+ years’ planning experience within consultancy (NZPI full membership an advantage)

• Strong understanding of planning processes and the RMA

• Excellent communication, report writing, and client relationship skills

• The ability to manage multiple projects and mentor others when needed

• A current NZ Driver’s Licence
